Koutsoyannopoulos Winery

In the first place, this one of a kind unique museum created in a cave. Because of its unique position this natural labyrinth is eight meters below ground and 300 meters long. However, it took family 21 years of hard work, patience, and perseverance to complete it in this remarkable location. In other words, enjoy the wine tastings while you watch a presentation on the preparation of local varieties.

Above all, in the mid-1980s, the Boutari family began its experimentation and devoted itself to the Santorini vineyard. Therefore, the insightful eye of an experienced winemaker identified an wine-growing zone with great potential and high-quality wine production prospects and delicate wine tastings.

Above all, established in 1903, Estate Argyros is run by Matthew Argyros, 4th generation of winemakers. Firstly, it owns 120ha of vineyards with ungrafted phylloxera safe plants averaging 70 years old. Secondly, it is including some of the oldest vines on the island which are over 200 years old. Furthermore, the philosophy is to craft outstanding boutique wines based only on the indigenous varietiesof Santorini. Similarly, we focus on wines of great subtlety, character, balance and elegance with an uncompromising commitment to quality.

Above all, was established in 1974 on Santorini island by Evagellos Lygnos. Nowadays, his son Loukas Lygnos still produces CANAVA SANTORINI’s fine spirits with the same principles and the same local materials. As, the same recipes inherited through generations are still being used.

Gavalas winery

In the first place, the Gavalas family has been exclusively engaged in the vinification of the indigenous varieties grown in Santorini, since the end of the 19th century. Moreover, up until the 1920¢s the family produced wines from grapes grown in their privately-owned vineyards and vinted in their winery (canava) in Megalochori.

Above all, in this winery you can taste Nychteri, a wine produced in the old way. However, 30 years ago locals used to make this wine using very riped grapes, aging in old French or Russian barrels.
Furthermore, when you enter Antonis’ winery, you get a feeling of travelling back in time. However, barrels stacked on barrels, ready to fill your glass, with the product name written on them with a chalk. Also, these barrels are filled with Nychteri, Roze, Brousko, Mezzo and Vinsanto, so you have many tasting options.

In the first place, the Venetsanos winery, that can now be visited, is the culmination of this rich family tradition with the recently revamped buildings. Furthermore, the exceptional architectural structure is combined with the history of one of the most important wine producers in the Aegean. However, the winery is located in the most breathtaking location offering incredible vistas over the caldera and volcanic islands, while you delight your wine tastings at sunset time.

Above all, the solid foundations of granddad Artemis’s winemaking tradition since 1952, the winery made a dynamic entry in contemporary winemaking in 2004. However, grandson Artemis Karamolegos invested in the production facility and the privately owned vineyards. Then, the producing wine of protected designation of origin (PDO) came for the first time. Furthermore, almost 15 years later, our wines keep earning prizes at international and domestic competitions. Also, while our export activities continue to grow on a yearly basis: we are currently the third largest winery of Santorini in terms of production volume.

Above all, Domaine Sigalas is one of the most renowned wineries in not only Santorini. However, in all of Greece, with internationally acclaimed wine labels that have won numerous awards and obtained a score of over 90 points on the rating system of the leading American wine critic Robert Parker (some of our labels have been rated at 95 and 96%).

Hatzidakis Winery

In the first place, Hatzidakis Winery In 1996 Haridimos Hatzidakis replanted a small vineyard which was abandoned since 1956, because of the large earthquake in Santorini. However, this vineyard of half hectare, which lies at an altitude of 330 meters, in the village of Pyrgos Kallistis, was cultivated organically with Aidani, an indigenous variety of Santorini.

Above all, Enologist E Karamolegos vinifies in his canava. However, he vinifies, almost experimentaly, grapes from his family’s vineyard. Furthermore, vines are cultivated traditionally, with due respect to the unique Santorini’s ecosystem.

Above all, the high-tech equipment and the cutting edge facilities of our winery guarantee contemporary winemaking and ideal conditions for high quality production.
However, at the same time, in a discrete out-of-the-way vault, we have set up a small oxidization area where we are delighted to produce our rare, sweet, aromatic Assyrtiko vinegar. Furthermore, small quantities (around 1,500 liters) are bottled annually after five years of ageing in oak barrels in our special cellars.

In the first place, SantoWines’ R&D invests in the ongoing development of cultivation and vinification techniques. In other words, it aims at the preservation of the biodiversity through the operation of a nursery of autochthonous varieties, a solid base for study and trial cultivation of local grapes.
Furthermore, the traditional cultivations of the farmers-members of our cooperative, guarantee the authenticity and the premium quality of our products.

Vasaltis vineyards

In the first place, is the newest winery in Santorini and was created by the youngest producers and is located in Vourvoulos area on the road to Oia. However, its name inspired by the black volcanic rock formed by the cooling of the vassaltic lava that covered the island of Santorini. In other words, the winery is ready to produce great wines and carve out its own history.

Above all, a unique Art Center within the pumice rock – carved chambers of an old winery. However, in this old winery dating back to 1861, representative works of art from the sphere of painting and sculpture are on display. Furthermore, offering visitors the opportunity to come close to contemporary Greek art and the course of artistic expression in Greece.
